From the sunken park, we will learn of the ancient cultures of Mexico. From a 690 ft high observation deck, we will learn about the city. At a traditional cantina, we will have a traditional sandwich and a drink.
An amazing half-day of exploration! Here’s a detailed look at what you can expect from both parts of your adventure:
1. El Parque Hundido (The Sunken Park)
-
Historical Significance: El Parque Hundido is a unique park in Mexico City, built over what was once part of the ancient lake system that surrounded the city. It’s called “sunken” because it was designed to sit below the surrounding street level, creating a sunken, sunlit garden space.
-
Architectural and Cultural Features: The park is known for its well-maintained green spaces, fountains, and sculptures, as well as its blend of modern amenities with historical references. You might also see remnants of the old canal system that was central to the Aztec city.
-
Activities: Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the park, take in the tranquil surroundings, and perhaps stop by the park’s open-air spaces for relaxation or a casual snack.
2. Mexico City World Trade Center Observation Deck
-
World Trade Center: Located in the heart of Mexico City, the World Trade Center offers one of the city’s highest and most impressive views. The observation deck stands at 690 feet above ground and provides an unparalleled 360-degree panoramic view of the sprawling metropolis.
-
Technological Features: The observation deck is equipped with advanced technology to enhance your experience, including interactive screens that identify notable landmarks and offer insights into the city’s layout and history.
-
Experience: The view from the top is spectacular, especially at sunset or nighttime, when the city lights come alive. It’s a great way to see the contrast between the historic areas you explored earlier and the modern cityscape.
Combining the ancient charm of El Parque Hundido with the modern vistas from the World Trade Center provides a rich and varied experience of Mexico City. Enjoy your exploration through the city’s past and present!
