This tour combines a leisurely short hop on a double decker Metrobus, with a visit to both, the Pulque and the Tequila museums and its exploration in their amazing traditional plazas.
-

WHAT YOU WILL DO
From the ancient former Convent of San Hipolito, we will start exploring the uniqueness of Mexican alcoholic beverages, beginning with millenary pulque, at The Pulque Museum. We will see a fe exhibits to learn how its made, and before having eight different flavored shots of pulque, we will visit the amazing display of the endemic axolotl, an endangered species key in the science of cloning.
After leaving the Café del Convento, La Panana, the Pulque Museum and its axolotls, we will embark in a short hop on a double decker Metrobus, for only one station, from where we will walk two blocks to the Tequila Museum. We will learn of the making and worldwide distribution of tequila, before being offered a courtesy shot.
At the feet of the museum, we will find Plaza Garibaldi, full of mariachis, where we will try to catch some playing. We will stroll past the Mercado San Camilito of Mexican Food, and if available, we will take a look at the murals in Saloon Tenampa.
WHERE YOU WILL BE
We will be bordering the limits of the 16th century city from San Hipolito to Cuepopan, as the regent monarch, Isabella of Portugal, ordered all local alcoholic drinks to be kept out of the European-style city.
